    Full Bodied & Fruity Red Wine

    This is a unique Pelee Island wine. Gamy Noir is a French grape variety that is solely responsible for the distinctive wines of Beaujolais, while Zweigelt, an Austrian / Hungarian grape variety, is Austria’s most popular red grape.

    Deep in colour. The appealing fruitless of Gamay Noir and the distinct spiciness of Zweigelt grapes is blended to yield this full bodied red. Its boysenberry and black current flavours combine with a fine tannic finish and crisp acidity.

    48% Ganay Noir
    43% Zweigelt
    9% Cabernet Franc

    Juicy flavours of ripe cherry and black raspberry deeply extracted. Multi-layers of fruit that will show best by decanting for 2 hours or hold in your cellar for 2-5 years.

    It is well-suited to pair with poultry, beef, fish, ham, lamb and pork. This wine will play well with creamy sauces, spicy seasonings and may just be one of the worldÂ’s most versatile food wines.

    Cabernet Franc is one of the classic red grapes used to make famous French Bordeaux Cabernets. It makes especially good Cabernet from the Pelee Island Vineyards because it ripens early and welling the warm island microclimate.

    Deep purple-red in colour. Perfectly ripe fruit on the nose, with fresh raspberries and black currant aromas, and a hint of cedar. Succulent summer berry pie flavours on the palate, with supple tannins, medium acidity and a long, spicy finish.

    BLEND:
    100% Cabernet Franc

    ALCOHOL: 13%
    RESIDUAL SUGAR: 2.4 g/l
    SUGAR CODE: (0) Extra Dry

    PAIR WITH

    Deep garnet in colour with dark berry fruit, vanilla and ear notes. Expressive and powerful with highly concentrated flavours of rich cocoa and blackberry and a long and elegant finish with well-structured tannins.

    Best paired with crusted rare beef tenderloin, prime rib, game and robust flavoured dishes.

    We consider our Winemaker’s Cache of hand selected wines our hidden gems. These are the wines that will improve with time: robust, rich and complex. Produced only in the best vintage years. These wines are crafted to represent the very best our vineyards and winemaker have to offer.
