North 42 Degrees Estate Winery Sauvignon Blanc 2012 Review

3.67 overall score

Winemaker’s Notes:
A blonde he with glimmering sage highlights, this beautifully balanced Sauvignon blanc has forward notes of white grapefruit, juicy lemon and fresh pineapple. The palate seamlessly follows the nose and is calmed by a soft herbaceousness that carries through to the finish and lingers on the essence of tarragon.

Effortlessly pairs with anything from rich creamy sauces to lite fragrant salads.

3.33 overall score

Winemaker’s Notes:
Radiant golden tones mirror the bright citrus notes in this ultra ripe Riesling. Zippy lemon and aromas of baking spices create a delightful impression of lemon meringue pie. This all supported by a classic long-lasting finish.

Would pair great with shellfish, green salads and creamy mild cheeses.

North 42 Degrees Estate Winery Gewürztraminer 2012 Review

Winemaker’s Notes:
This lightly straw coloured white is actually quite weighty and has a superbly rich mouthfeel. The nose displays intense complexity: rose petals, exotic lychee and honey. Young guava plays on the tongue and is rounded by delicate honeysuckle and then finishes with compelling spices. This wine is a super neat treat!

Germanic in style it pairs perfectly with German fare but it may also offer an exciting contrast to more exotic spicy dishes.

North42Degrees Estate Winery Pinot Noir 2011 Review

    3.00 overall score

    Winemaker’s Notes:
Pinot Noir is Burgundy’s most famous Noble grape and is challenging grape to grow but the effort is worth it. The Pinot Noir at North 42 Degrees is a medium bodied red wine with fruity and earthy notes. With flavours of raspberries, wild strawberries and a hint of mocha chocolate make this Pinot a versatile food wine.

Suggested pairings include roast pork, salmon, veal, chicken and salads and for our vegetarians roasted vegetables and tomato based dishes. For the more adventurous, this Pinot Noir compliments the flavours of game meat including duck, venison, rabbit and of course lamb.

    Back of Bottle:
Luscious raspberry, strawberry, spice and jam flavours are the product of gentle lake breezes that tenderly envelope the grapes, rich koranic soils, sun filled days balanced with cool starry nights and the love and care of its owners. Light bodied and versatile wine to pair with food.

It is the perfect soul mate to tuna, salmon, roasted chicken, turkey, duck, pasta with bluch or pesto sauces and brie and parmesan cheese.
