Winemaker’s Notes:
Our Riesling welcomes you to a pleasant aroma of ginger and honeydew. Its bright complex palate exhibits tropical fruit, fennel, and ginger complimenting a soft body followed by a crisp clean finish.

First I must apologize for not reviewing this wine sooner. It was released way back in April of 2012 and has been in the LCBO for quite some time too where I have been buying it when I am looking for a good Ontario Riesling at a great price.

The 2011 vintage is no longer available at the winery. They now have the 2012 vintage available but lucky for us, there’s still some available at many of the LCBOs.

When I visited the winery recently, Tanya Mitchell noted that I had not visited in quite some time. Since my last visit she has released quite a few new wines and I promise I will not wait as long to taste and review them.

Sprucewood’s 2011 Riesling is one of my favourite Lake Erie North Shore dry style Rieslings. It offers everything that I am looking for from a good Riesling (including price).

Light straw colour, Aromas of apple, citrus and hints of mineral follow through on the palate. Crisp and clean, with god balance and a long lingering finish.

Winemaker Tanya Mitchell has a good handle on wine, especially white wines. This Riesling is one of her best yet! Look for it at the LCBO and buy it while you still can!
