Muscedere’s 2006 Meritage was one of my favourite red wines and I think the 2008 blend is even better. It has a lot of character and is quite complex. Fruit notes such as cherry and plum were to be expected. Add in some fresh herb notes, new leather, and hints of oak and you have in your hand one fine wine.
Another excellent red wine from Muscedere Vineyard’s. Like their recent Syrah release I recommend laying this one down for a year or two to let the tannins settle a little bit. They still have a good grip. If you are going to open a bottle now, a nice rare steak should be the perfect match.
