Sprucewood Shores Lady In Red 2007 Review
Winemaker’s Notes:
This year’s wine is quite the elegant lady. Her perfume is like licorice and raisin, and you taste the cherry when your lips meet hers. She’s bold and medium bodied, with a soft and gracious finish. Serve with tomato based sauces, veal, and cuts of well marbled steak.

Cherry Cherry Boom Boom
No, not the Lady Gaga song, it is what best describes this wine.
Lots of juicy cherry exploding on the palate. Behind the fruit there is some good complexity. Leather, earth and bell pepper are noted once the cherry explosion fades.
Moderate finish reveals some tannin. Good crisp acidity makes this wine perfect for tomato based pasta sauces. I was told that this wine is a cab sauvignon (80%) and cabernet franc (20%) blend.
This is an interesting wine, if you like a lot of cherry flavour in your red wine, you will love this one!
