This the the fourth (and final wine) of Pelee’s ALVAR series that I have tasted and reviewed.
They are all very good. The Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2009 is the one I enjoyed the most, but this Chardonnary / Gewurztraminer blend is not far behind.
Loaded with crisp acidity keeps this one very refreshing. The 50 / 50 blending in interesting with the spicey, lychee notes of the Gewurztraminer taking the front roll and dominating.
Citrus notes also find their way onto the palate.
Summer isn’t over yet. There is still time to enjoy this one while taking in some sunshine. Going to a Labour Day BBQ? This would be a good wine to bring along.
