Winemaker’s Notes:
Medium Bodied. This Chardonnay releases a vibrant, tropical nose of melon, banana, and a hint of mineral. The palate is very fruity and shows pineapple, and melon. Excellent when paired with tropical fruits, salad, and salmon.

Often they can be boring but when a chard is good, it’s a treat. This chardonnay from Sprucewood Shores is a good example as to why Chardonnay is so popular.
Visiually not a lot of colour. Good indication that this hasn’t seen any oak. Sprucewood has two other chardonnays available at the winery, both of them have some oak, pour a glass of each and note the difference in colour.
Nose and taste is fruit-forward with an engaging floral note to boot. Spend some time sniffing the nose on this one. It’s a treat.
Fruit tastes noted were tropical fruit such as pineapple and banannas, also noted grapefruit and an interesting mineral back bone that I have detected in a few of Sprucewood’s white wines lately. I have no idea if the chardonay grapes are estate grow or source from another Ontario vineyard but where ever they come from they produce one excellent, complex wine.
Aidity is clean, and crip. A little bitterness detected as the wine started to warm up, just keep it chilled for best serving. Long fruity finish. Dam good stuff!
