Winemaker and Pam’s Notes:
The 2008 Pinot Grigio has bright acidity and an opulent mouth feel of pear, green apple and honey dew melon. An essence of honey continues through to the crisp clean finish. Pairs well with seafood, light pastas and creamy cheeses.

I have been waiting for a while in anticipation for this wine to be released. Having been lucky enough to taste this wine several times while it aged in steel it kept getting better each time I sampled it. It’s complexity grew with each tasting.
Pinot Grigio is not really my thing but this one sure peaked my interest as I noted how much the treed fruit tastes had developed with each tasting.
Nose, while not powerful was complex with green apple, ripe pear, and an interesting mineral note that I have not found in many local whites.
The taste consists of ripe green apples, lime and that same interesting minerality. Wonderful complex, with a nice balance. This wine is crisp. The finish is dry and nicely refreshing.
This minerality is much more common in “old world wines” such as those from some regions of France. It is a pleasant surprise when one is found right here in Essex County.
This wine is heading to the LCBO and will be available at several local LCBO locations. (LCBO product # 162875). Great buy at $12.
