With it’s beautiful garnet colour, the 2008 Cabernet Franc opens with the juicy flavours of red berries and sweet cherries. Berry flavours linger in the finish.

Interesting, very interesting indeed.
When I first opened this wine and poured a glass the light colour of the wine struck me as different. Cab Franc’s are usually a lot darker red than this. The wine has the look of a Gamay more than a Cab Franc.
The nose is not powerful but gave hints of cherry, and some earthy characters.
It’s a light to medium bodied wine with good balance. Semi dry which good acidity. Good cherry fruit taste that linger on the finish.
Very light tannins that I only notice near the end of the finish. It would appear that this wine didn’t get much time on the skins or in a barrel.
I usually like a Cab Franc to be bigger than this, but I like this one. Everything about this wine is lighter and it all works together in balance.
This one is good all on it’s own. Makes an excellent sipper.
