CREW Meritage 2007 Review
Colchester Ridge Estate Winery (CREW)
Winemaker’s Notes:
A traditional Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot gives this wine beautiful balance. Ripe raspberry and cherry flavours on the nose showcase the exceptional growing conditions of the 2007 season. The buttery finish is promising with hints of vanilla which will evolve with aging.

This is a classic example of a Meritage wine. When blending three red wines, balance is so important, and this one found a good balance from start to finish.
Nose: Black cherry, currant, and cassis.
Taste: ripe red fruits hit the palate, followed by raspberry, black licorice, plum, and even a hint of tobacco.
Mild tannins and good acidity. Smooth finish.
This Meritage is good right when served with a meal. Cellar until at least the summer of 2010 and this one should be a knock out.
