Pelee Island Baco Noir 2008 Review
Wine for people who enjoy a robust, rustic wine. The feeling of a cottage in the woods and a campfire.
Winemaker’s Notes:
The grapes were harvested in September when they had reached 19.6 degrees brix. They were then fermented for eight days in a temperature controlled stainless steel tank.
Due to this wine’s full body, it is ideally suited with game meats, roast beef or steak. Some specific dishes that we would recommend with this wine would be pastas with tomato meat sauces, pizzas and backyard barbecues.

On New Year’s Eve we held a Baco Noir blind taste challenge. This one from Pelee Island Winery held its own by coming in 2nd place.
Don’t let price be a deciding factor on whether or not a wine is good or not. This Baco is just a little over $10 and was picked as being better than many other wines, some at twice the price.
Any baco with pizza is always a good combo on my opionion. Pelee’s Baco fits the bill.
I received this wine as a Christmas gift. I didn’t pay for it so it is hard to comment on the price but you say it is $11.95 and I would pay that much for it. It was very good and will buy this wine.
