D’Angelo Old Vines Foch 2006 Review
Winemaker’s Notes:
This rich dark full-bodied wine was made from the oldest vines on the property. Planted in 1984. Fermented on its own skins for seven days, barrel aged for 18 months, this wine is drinking now but will improve with age. Cellar potential, up to three to five years.

Very dark purple / black colour. Could be considered inky in colour.
Nose was a bit bland.
Taste was interesting and a nice change. Certainly not a full-bodied wine as described by the winemaker. More a medium-bodied wine that reminded me of a Gamay. Soft red fruit notes on the palate, followed by an elegant smooth mouthfeel near the finish.
Nice and easy sipping wine.
