Pelee Island Pelee Pink 2008 Review
Winemaker’s Notes:
Best served well chilled, this wine is an agreeable companion to spicy or barbecued foods. It is also a beautiful wine to drink on its own on a hot summer day.
Our Pelee Pink is a popular choice during those warm summer months. This wine has been cool fermented (18 degrees celsius) to maximize its fruit flavours.

Chambourcin is not my favourite wine grape however Pelee Island Winery has made a rather nice Rosé out of it by blending in a little Riesling like grape (Geisenheim).
Pleasant fruity and floral aroma. Easy to sip on, very fruity with citrus. Taste lingers for quite some time.
Would be an excellent cocktail wine or after dinner sipper. Very nice!
Oddly enough Wanda didn’t really care for this one, she found it a bit “tart” or acidic. I imagine that this wine is being marketed for female wine drinkers. I just can’t imagine too many men walking around with a bottle of Pelee Pink.
How ever, as Juliet says ….
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”
Call this wine what you want … its still very good.
Female marketing or not…… this has become my favorite wine. Great with any red sauce or meat. Actually great anytime, it compliments everything. I was very disappointed last week when my wine store said they wouldn’t be ordering any more until spring/summer. No idea where I will get my fix now…..
Caroline, if you live close to Pelee Island Winery in Kingsville stop in there or visit their web site and see if they will deliver to you. I believe this wine can be ordered online however you may be only able to order by the case.
