Winemaker’s Notes:
Hints of caraway seeds and anise fill the bouquet of this herbaceous Cabernet Franc. Flavours of damson plum and sweet cherry fill the middle palate, along with a smooth lingering finish. A must with prime rib.

Review for Mastronardi Cabernet Franc 2007.
This is an excellent Cabernet Franc ….. in the past I have raved over Mastronardi’s 2006 Cabernet Franc, even selecting it as the red wine to served at our Christmas dinner. Never thinking that Mastronardi Estate Winery would top that wine …… well they did!
Mastronardi’s Cabernet Franc 2007 is even better. The new release has set the bar locally for Cabernet Francs with it’s incredible smooth mouthfeel.
Aromas of bell peppers and spices.
Taste is a perfect balance of sweetenss and tannins. Began with a wonderful eucalyptus and herb taste upfront followed tobacco, cherries, and light tannins on the mid-palate, Get ready for a very smooth finish that lingers for quite some time. They just don’t get any smoother that this one.
Priced at under $13 makes this one a steal. Buy this one now before they come to their senses and make this a $20 Cabernet Franc!
Congratulations on this anniversary milestone.
Cabernet Franc is one of my favourite wines of the region. I have not had this vintage yet from Mastronardi but will pick some up now after reading your review.
I can’t believe how affordable the wines from this winery are and the quality has been bang on.
They obviously have an agenda or a marketing genius, in either case this makes me very content.
I will post my reviews soon.
Barb, thank you for your kind words. Looking forward to your review.
