Every so often I open a bottle of wine that just separates itself from all of the rest. This is one of them.

The Muscedere’s could double the price of this wine and I would still recommend that you buy it without any hesitation. Lucky for all of us it is only $18 and they have a good supply of it to keep us happy for some time.

Lets have a look at this wine ….

The wine has a deep dark purple colour to it. Just the way a good Baco Noir should look like. Giving the wine a swirl in my glass it has very good legs. The wine hangs to the glass like syrup. The nose is wonderful, I pick up those hints of those oak barrels that the wine has been siting in for the past 12 months.

Taste is excellent. Some oak and some dark cheery notes. Very well balanced. This one is going to give their Meritage a good run. Smooth finish with great mouth feel.

Now and then when a wine is very good I pick up a case of it. This is one of those wines. It is going to age well. I am looking forward to trying this oen again in 2010, and 2011.

Perfect with a BBQ’ed steak, and old cheese like the winemaker suggests. A must buy this summer.
