This is a very good Pinot Noir.
Not too often do I drink Pinot Noir. If given the choice give me a Cab Franc or Cab Sauvignon. The taste of Pinot Noir is often just too light for me.
This Pinot Noir is light in colour, nose, and taste. But it is still very good.
I tried this wine slightly chilled and again at room temperature and recommend that you chill this wine first. (Just a slight chilling of the wine really bumped the fruit flavours).
This wine has a light strawberry red colour, not nearly as light as a Rose wine but a lot lighter than the that of the big reds.
Not a lot going on in the nose, mild hint of strawberry.
Like some other local Pinot Noir wines this one has a light taste too. Mild strawberry and rasberry notes.
The finish has a good length making it an excellent sipping or cocktail wine.
Last time I tried this wine (a little over a year ago) I really enjoyed it. A year later and it is still good, maybe even a little better.
My bottle has started to develope wine crystals or wine diamonds which is a good thing and shows that this wine has some nice quality.
A little more earthy this year, not much fruit. Acidity is excellent and moderate tannins round out the wine. Still shows lovely balance.
For around $20 I think I may get a few more before they all are gone from the winery.
