Opened and poured this wine into a decanter and noted the deep red colour. The nose had earthy notes and hints of spice.

This wine has had time to age and is ready to be opened right now. The Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon flavours have mellowed in this one over the years.

Taste has the earthy taste, and a hint of cherries (the cherry flavours are not as notable). I did note that it left my mouth very dry shortly after sipping.

This is not a sipping wine. It needs to be paired with food. I tried this wine with some sharpe white aged cheese and really enjoyed it. I also paired it with pasta (didn't care for this pairing as much). Paired with a nice BBQ'ed beef steak this wine would do well.
