Red with a purplish tinge. A big nose of sour cherry, chocolate wafer cookies, beets, cloves and pepper. This is hallmark of many baco noirs with their wild and exotic nose leading me to call them "Wako Baco". However many Bacos crumble on the palate and you are left drinking grape juice with no tannins or acids. This Baco has some grip and grit so you won't be left holding the bag.You are drinking the real stuff here. On the palate lots of sour cherry, plum and red currants Not a huge long finish but enough to leave you thinking about it.You might want to hang on to this but wait no longer than the end of 2011.

Pair with pork medallions in a red wine reduction sauce.

I immediately noticed the difference from the previous year's vintage. Personally, I have found the local Baco's a bit too tart the last couple years. Factor in a great growing year and I believe this is a great Baco! It reminds me of the first Baco I tried at the now forgotten Grape Tree Estate Winery that was nearby.
I love the black ruby colour, dark berry flavour and smooth finish. It was a perfect match for the T-bone steak I Q'd up for dinner.
Overall totally yummy!

I usually do not like baco but this one was sweeter than any other I have tried. I liked it. My husband likes baco and really enjoyed this one too.

Start the BBQ, and throw on a big juicy steak before opening this wine.

This medium to full bodied red wine really needs to be paired with a nice beef steakdiner to get the full pleasure out of this wine. You could sip on it by itself but you will be missing the full flavour this wine has to offer. I tried this wine with ckicken and pasta, and recommend beef for this one.

This is a good baco, in fact I will go as far as to say it's one of the best baco's currently available in the Southwest Ontario region.

The nose is fruit forward hints of black fruits.

For me tasted varied. The first time I tried this wine (at Aleksander's Baco Is Back event) I picked up black cherry and black berries notes. I tried it again the next day and the wine had a wonderful black licorce taste near the finish. Later that day I fired BBQ'ed some nice NY Strip Steaks that I had just picked up. The steak and baco wine pairing was perfect! This wine pairs so well with a BBQ'ed steak.

The beef tasted better. The wine tasted better. The finish was smooth.

This is one good wine that should celler well for a few years.

This wine is available in two bottle sizes, 750 mL and 1.5L. Both sizes are priced to sell. The 1.5L bottles are an excellent value.

Cheers!
