Pelee Island Monarch Vidal 2007 Review
Winemaketer Notes:
Crisp and vibrant, this richly textured wine is complimented by flavours of citrus and pear with a nuance of butter. Bold tropical fruit flavours, off-dry, easy sipping style.
These grapes were harvested in the last weeks of September when they had reached 19.4 brix. The maturation period was four weeks in stainless steel tanks with the temperature at a controlled level of 16 Celsius.
While this wine is best served with white meats, you can combine it with just about anything. Best of all, our Monarch Vidal is enjoyed most when paired with good friends, a sun drenched patio, or a candlelit dinner.

Chill this one and you will enjoy it.
This is a fresh and zesty wine with a fresh floral and citrus nose.
It’s very easy to sip on. Even with all of the rain we have been having I wanted to get outside to the BBQ. I fired it up, put some chicken breast on the BBQ and got this wine ready for dinner. This wine paired very well with BBQ’ed chicken.
Don’t let the under $10 price of the wine fool you. This is a great value wine. The wine is labeled Vidal but the winemaster’s notes indicate that this is a blend of 85% Vidal and 15% Geisenheim.
Geisenheim is derived from a hybrid of Riesling making this a nice zesty blend with nice citrus taste.
I like this wine, and I also like Pelee Island’s sister red wine blend,”Monarch Red”
This is a “VQA Ontario” wine so it is made from 100% grapes grown in Ontario.
