Shiraz, dry, Watercress Creek Release

Award winning wine:
ACWC Silver & Ontario Wine Awards – 2008 Bronze

Winemaker’s Notes:
Deep dark red wine. The bouquet suggests cinnamon and blackberry and a whiff of pepper. It tastes soft and mellow with a lick of pepper and blackberry with a soft chocolate finish.

Our syrah pairs well with a freshly roasted spring lamb, or veal. Good with prime rib or pizza too.

13% alc./vol.

Price: 750 mL $18

Winemaker’s Notes:
This wine has a pronounced fruity bouquet and becomes rounder and finer with aging. The nose has expressions of black cherries with a surprise black pepper finish. High complexity, well balanced, ripe and soft tannins. This Zweigelt is great by itself or enjoy with beef and barbecues.

Umbrella Gewurztraminer Riesling

Wine Maker’s Notes:
Pale straw colour with green edges. This wine shows an abundance of flavours and aromas from both the Gewurztraminer and the Riesling while still having a crisp lingering finish. Try with spicy or asian inspired food.

Try with spicy or Asian inspired foods. This wine is a perfect compliment to appetizers, seafood, cheeses and light meats. A great pair would be a nice scallop dish with a wonderful light creamy white sauce and some crisp, fresh vegetables straight from the garden. Sounds delicious!

50% Gewurztraminer
50% Riesling

Pelee Island Barrique Chardonnay 2005 Review

Wine Maker’s Notes:
Our Barrique Chardonnay proves that those pioneers of winemaking knew that our climate produces an excellent, round, dry and very well balanced white wine. Fermented in French Barriques, our late harvested Chardonnay grapes produce wine that is toasty with distinctive vanilla flavours.

These grapes were harvested in late October when they had reached 21.6° brix. The juice was then clarified and placed in French Barriques, from the regions Allier, Nevers, and Troncais, for ten months Sur Lie.

Serve now through 2007, with light meats, seafood, and cheeses. A delicious compliment this wine would be to Lobster Newburg, or some fragrant Gruyere cheese.
