Excellent wine. Yes I agree with Barb the price is steep so I gave it 4 out of 5 on that but otherwise this is a very good wine. I only bought one bottle due to the price but I am happy with it. Perhaps the wine will get better over time but it is good right now.

Our friends have helped this family owned winery hand pick grapes at harvest and have mentioned to us how hard working they are. I was able to share a bottle of this wine at their house and thought it was too young to be released; after all it was 2007 vintage one of the best years this region has seen. The oak is subtle, the bouquet fills the nose with cherries, a hint of vanilla and leather. The wine is quite dry and indeed does not leave a long lingering finish. Its so nice to see Pinot Noir being produced by some of the craft wineries. My final opinion would be the wine is very nice, could have been cellared longer, a bit over priced.

Deliciously Drinkable!

Not cheap but it is deliciously drinkable. It's a $25 local wine so at this price I was expecting it to be very good. Aleksander Winery delivered on this one.

Let's get the price tag out of the way. Is this wine worth $25? You can certainly spend a lot less on other local wines that are delicious but every now and then it's nice to treat yourself to a wine that you know is very limited and that not many others will ever have a chance to try.

When Wanda and I went to the winery the other day to pick this wine up they were not offering samples of this wine. I don't know if that is the plan but with only 420 bottles produced I imagine that tastings would need to be limited if at all available.

So if you want to try this wine, you will probably have to buy a bottle. I picked up two and plan to return and buy a few more.

About the wine .... It has juicy red cherry, plum and spicy oak characters to begin with followed by acidity and fine tannins for a dry and short finish.

Plain and simple .... it is a very good wine. It's one that is easy to appreciate.

If you want to treat yourself to something special. This wine is it.
