Smith & Wilson Riesling 2007 Review
Winemaker’s Notes:
Riesling, dry
Brilliant, straw coloured white wine with the subtle aroma of saffron and honey. Our versatile Riesling teases your palate with a delicate hint of spice, followed by the rich flavours of honey and apricots.
An elegant Riesling boasting good balance with a long clean finish. It pairs well with Asian inspired foods. Try it with Sushi or a Chinese black-bean based dish. It is also great with curries or cream based seafood and pasta dishes. Most excellent with fish!
Price: 750 mL $12

I really do like rieslings and Smith & Wilson’s riesling just confirms why I really like this white wine.
Colour: Very clear with a hint of yellow.
Aroma: The nose has hints of apple, honey and sweet fruits.
Taste: From start to finish this is a very nice wine. Starts with hints of green apple, then melon and finally honey. Very nice balance.
Price: It’s a steal at $13. Wish I had bought a few more to have on hand.
We paired this wine with pork chops, mushrooms and asparagus. Pairing was very nice.
Looks like I may need to make a trip to Smith & Wilson soon and pick up a few more bottles of their riesling.
