Chambourcin

Winemaker’s Notes:
Another lovely chilled red wine with lovely grapefruit, mango, strawberry…. Made of 100% Chambourcin grapes, that is quickly becoming very popular. Cobalt Blue bottle. Wonderful with summer foods, and appetizers, grilled vegetables, cold cuts, cheese, sole, salmon, turkey, white meats.

Price: 750 mL $9.95

Good wine and a very good price is always a winner. This Chambourcin is priced under $10 so you can’t go wrong picking this one up from Erie Shores Vineyard on your next visit.

This wine is full of aromatic flavours and has a medium-bodied taste on the palate. It’s a very easy drinking wine perfect for back yard BBQ gatherings, and summer parties. As a member of the Parrot heads of Southwestern Ontario I am recommending this wine for our next tail gate party before a Jimmy Buffet concert.

You can’t miss this wine. the lime green label on the cobalt blue bottle really make it stand out.

This has long been one of my favourite wines, so yes, I will give it a full 5 in every category. A strong fruity nose with predominent strawberry. Some grapefruit comes through in the taste to contrast the sweetness nicely. It’s a pretty sweet rose made from the Chambourcin grape with the skins off. Great for those new to wines or for those days when you don’t feel like a tart or heavy red. Sweet like a Vidal or Reisling, but slightly bolder, this wine is great with fish, pasta and mild sausage. Also, good on it’s own in the hot tub.

This wine is slowly gaining in popularity, but is still hiding in the cellar. Bring it out and release the secret!
(The 2007 is on par with the 2006)
