A few days ago while I was looking at my wine collection I discovered this Colio Riesling 2006. Forgotten and I have no idea how.
This is one fine Riesling. Wanda and I really enjoyed it. When opened this wine for dinner which was garlic pasta and a meatloaf (from Schinkel’s Meat Market) in Essex.
What a pairing this made.
This Riesling is sweet, but you don’t have to have a sweet tooth to enjoy it. The pasta and meat loaf seemed to cut a bite of the sweetness which I really liked.
The nose is full of sweetness such as honet and lemons. Same with the taste.
This is an award winning wine … I can see why. I wish I had a few more bottles left in my cellar.

This wine brings back a few memories. Very nice wine, may be ever just a little better than 2007 which is still very good.
Funny that you should list this one. I have two unopened bottles of this wine and I was just looking at them the other day. I am going to open one this weekend. It was a good riesling wasn’t it.
