Aleksander Estate Chardonnay 2007 Review
Winemaker’s Notes:
A great vintage year is the best reason to sip fine wine. 2007 was hot, dry and long with endless sumer days providing the ideal condition for rich, concentrated wines.
The unoaked Chardonnay is full-bodied and dry combining red apple and pear notes with a soft finish.
Food Pairings:
Sure to be a great match with pasta in a cream sauce, grilled salmon or crusty bread and cheese.
Price: 750 mL $12.95
12.7% alc./vol

Local wine writer Jim Small suggested that I try this chardonnay. We had been emailing back and forth about a few things and I had mentioned how much lately that I have been enjoying the local chardonnary’s. He asked me if I had tried Aleksander’s Chardonnay yet, when I told him that I hadn’t he suggested it was one I didn’t want to miss.
Wanda and I both said the same thing after our first sip of this wine today. One word …. “WOW”. That was how we both described this wine.
Mild citrus nose with a hint of melons. It’s a heavy white, full bodied and very smooth on the palate. It is just a joy to sip on.
This chardonnay should be the bench mark wine that other strive to meet. it is a steal at under just under $13.
Great with cheese, salads, pastas or just sipping on.
Thanks for the tip Jim!
Jim is right!! I don’t think there is a better chardonnay on the county. Is this one still available? For some reason I thought that they had sold out their chardonnay??? No??? Looks like I better make another trip to the winery and get a few more.
Yes I say pass me another glass of this chardonnay. This is the good stuff.
