This an impressive wine. To be honest I wasn’t really expecting much when I tried it. Wagner Estate Winery is like a farmer’s market selling everying from pies, glazed ham, apples and wine. Their wine select is limited to a one red, a few whites, blushes, and dessert wines so I wondered if they could make a good wine with everything else that they have going on around there. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Wagner’s Log House Red is a very good wine.
It’s a blend of Gamay and Zwiegelt Grapes. The wine is light bodied and fruity. Similair in taste to a Beaujolais with a nice cherry aftertaste from the Zwiegelt. It is a very good blend of grapes and a top quality wine.
A wine doesn’t have to be VQA to be good. Buy this one!
