NOTES FROM THE WINEMASTER:
Pelee Island Winery presents its finest Chardonnay Vineyard. Our Viticulturalist has specially selected his most prized grapes for this wine. Only the highest quality, “free-run” juice – that which flows prior to any pressing – is fermented and aged in oak barrels.

These grapes were picked early on a mid-September morning when the Chardonnay grapes had reached 20.9 degrees brix. The grapes were sent to the winery via the Pelee Island ferry service. The Chardonnay grapes were then crushed and pressed and then transferred to a jacketed stainless steel tank where it is cooled to 15 – 16 degrees Celsius and allowed to ferment.

This Chardonnay makes a wonderful accompaniment to cheeses, seafood and white meats. Whatever you serve this wine with should be as delicious and full of wonderful light flavours as the Chardonnay itself.

BRIX: 20.9°

RESIDUAL SUGAR: 2.8 g/L

Before I begin this review I confess that I enjoy red wines much more and white wines. I am still trying to discover the taste of white wines.

I had a difficult time figuring out the aroma to the nose that this wine had. I decided that it was florial but it wasn’t that strong. Perhaps it was because I pulled the cork on the bottle that was room tempeture but there just wasn’t much to the nose here.

The taste was very nice, very apple like and perfect with cheese as the winemaker suggest.

A premium wine for under $13 gave this one top marks.

This is a very nice wine and a very good price and it should be available at your local LCBO.

This wine is not too bad at all. The price was perfect for a nice wine like this. I actually would expect to pay more than I did.
