Gary.

I totally agree with you on this one. One might look at this wine and believe it is a rose wine but it is not. It is totally 100% cab franc grapes. It is a nice light sweeter cab franc wine that is perfect before dinner or while sitting on the porch enjoying the summer sun.

There is a story on how we bought this wine.

I recently received the latest newsletter from Erie Shore Vineyard and read that they had a very limited quality of Cab Franc Reserve 2005 left. Wanda called up and when told they had about 20 bottles left she asked them to hold 6 for us.

Off we went to pick them up before Thanksgiving dinner.

On our visit to vineyard we sampled the Summer Sun Cabernet 2007. It was unusually warm in the area for mid October, it felt like a summer day without the humidity. This wine is perfect for a day like this one.

This is not a wine I would normally think of buying but I am glad we did. It is perfect before dinner or in our case before Thanksgiving dinner.

The wine is made from grapes grown on the Erie Shore vineyard. The skins and stems are quickly removed and the wine never sees an oak barrel. Even if you do not like red wines (how could you not?) give the Summer Sun Cabernet a try. I think you will really enjoy this one.
