Colchester Ridge Estate Winery (CREW)
The aromas extending upwards are woody and earthy, exhibiting shitake mushroom and a souicance of tarragon. The taste is satisfying with jamminess in berries and plum, cassis and a tincture of violet. With its good tannins, it promises a good shelf-life and more structure with age.

This is an excellent red wine.
I had my first taste of this wine in August at the southest ontario 14th annual wine tasting event. I wanted to buy several bottles of it right away but couldn’t because the wineries were not allowed to sell at the event. The following week we headed over to the CREW and purchased several bottles of this wine.
The 2005 Cabernet Franc won a bronze medal at the “All Canadian Wine Championships” and from what people have been telling me the 2006 Cabernet Franc is even better.
This is one of my favourite local wines and with only 220 cases produced sadly it won’t be available much longer.
Had this one on local visit to the Windsor area while on vacation. Very nice. Enjoyable. I recommend this wine.
