Sprucewood Shores Barrel Reserve Chardonnay 2012 Review

Winemaker’s Notes:
Gravity flow into new French oak barrels really enchanted this wine’s bouquet

Like a fresh French Brioche, this wine opens with the scent of fruit, butterscotch and vanilla. It balances the best of the smooth and buttery barrel against the fresh fruit and crisp backbone of the wine.

        0 overall score

        Winemaker’s Notes:
Our first single varietal Merlot comes from the most challenging growing season we have experienced to date. (more rain than we would have liked). Yields were kept very low and the grapes for this wine were sorted in the vineyard and then sorted a second time before processing.

This wine exhibits hints of dark chocolate and ripened berries on the nose and palate. Enjoy with caramelized roasted vegetables, tomato based dishes or hardy red meats.

        Hand-harvested: October 16, 2011.

This wine has compelling aromas and flavours of blueberry and raspberry, beautifully interwoven with milk chocolate and vanilla from its time spent in French Oak barrels. Try with a grilled veal chop with cranberry chutney. (VINTAGES panel, April 2013)

Sanson Bird Dog Red 2006 Lot #2 Review

          0 Reviews
          0 overall score

          Winemaker’s Notes:
A medium ruby colour with a youthful purple hue. Smoky aromas of wild bramble and elderberry with hints of coffee accenting the dense fruity core. The palate displays medium, approachable body and structure with good acidity and an evident, yet not overpowering tannic grip. The core remains rich and wild berry that simply goes on and on through the finish. Very versatile. Serve with wild game, hearty stew or lamb.

Cooper’s Hawk Cabernet Franc Reserve 2010 Review

            1 Reviews
            0 Reviews
            5.00 overall score

            Winemaker’s Notes:
The 2010 vintage yielded the perfect canvas as a base to create a masterpiece of art. With little winemaking intervention and more focus on preservation, this wine greatly reflects Mother Nature at her kindest. Slow integration of oak presents a subtle backdrop showcasing the quality of fruit. The balancing of ripe tannins and natural acidity with secondary fermentation were carefully conducted creating a sound structure suited for either cellar aging or instant gratification. Either way you choose this wine is sure to please. Enjoy.
